9.3 - Stakeholders & Funding

Each quarter, our Advisory Council meets to discuss the direction and funding of our STEM pipeline. This team helps us maintain funding by exploring existing and new partnerships within our community. The Advisory Council is lead by our county STEM director, Bridget Jones and includes leadership from schools, business partners, district representatives, and UNC Charlotte representatives. During advisory council meetings, members discuss the STEM plan for our county, professional development opportunities for teachers, funding and grant opportunities, and future steps to bring our program to more students in Cabarrus County. This team has provided the current funding required for developing our programs by writing and submitting a 3.5 million dollar grant titled INSPIRE (Infusing, iNnovative STEM Practices Into Rigorous Education.) This team continues to discuss our sustainability plan after our grant funding ends.
