Model: STEM teachers monthly receive information regarding computer-based and/or online instructional resources for STEM aligned to the NC Essential Standards for Technology (e.g. links to instructional technology tools, articles about effective use of instructional technology, meetings with peers focused on instructional technology, etc.)

3.2 - Instructional Technology Resources for STEM

There are many ways that our teachers receive information about technology resources.  Our technology facilitator stays up to date by attending monthly meetings at the district level to share and collaborate with other facilitators about tools that teachers can use in their classroom. She brings these ideas back and shares in weekly PLC meetings and during staff meetings. She has also created a Canvas course for teachers to participate in modules about new technology. Teachers participate at will when they are interested in using a new tool. Our STEM coach also receives many resources through her Professional Learning Networks (PLN) and shares information with teachers via her website and a teacher directed newsletter titled, Sparkle (Sharing Powerful Activities Really Keeps Learners Engaged.) Many of our teachers also gain knowledge of new tools and programs in their own online professional learning networks via Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and other sites.
